A rat snake made itself at home in a security guard's old shoes at a factory in Pune, Maharashtra.

On October 25, he went to check on a pair of spare shoes he had kept in the room. He found his shoes intact but also discovered that a rat snake had turned them into a comfortable home.

He called rescuer Saidas Kusal, who caught the non-venomous snake effortlessly and released it later in the wild.

Kusal said: “People should be careful what they leave uncovered. In areas with high snake population, abandoned shoes provide perfect nesting grounds.”
