Urban explorer finds ‘spooky’ cottage abandoned suddenly – with dirty dishes still in the sink and framed DEAD PHEASANT
An urban explorer has discovered a cottage that appears to have been abandoned suddenly – with the owners leaving dishes still in the sink.
YouTuber Daniel Sims, 32, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, visited the dilapidated house in Anglesey, Wales, on the recommendation of a fellow explorer.
Located in a vast land with two empty caravans in the yard, Daniel was “blown away” to find everything had been left untouched as if someone still lived in the house.
Daniel, who films his adventures for his YouTube channel, BeardedReality, first surveyed the caravans, along with fellow explorer Charlotte, 29.
The first caravan still had dishes, both clean and unwashed, scattered across the kitchen counter and in the sink, along with a half-empty bottle of ketchup.
Daniel commented that the caravan seemed to have been left to “overgrow”.
In the main house, the front door was left “wide open”, along with open windows.
The explorer discovered a bizarre collection of items including a framed Kellogg’s cornflakes advertisement, old photographs and records.
Different patterned wallpapers can be seen peeling off the walls all across the house – one of the few signs that the home has been left to rot.
Cabinets with shelves full of china can be seen, along with art pieces that Daniel says have seen damage over time owing to the elements.
Alongside antiques, Daniel also found more modern items including multiple speakers, a computer scanner, an old keyboard and a gramophone.
While the place looked “foreboding and kind of creepy”, Daniel found the cottage fascinating to explore.
“It’s crazy to see what is left behind in a property like this, as it is kind of like the people that used to own the place are still there or just left, but you can clearly see that a vast amount of time has gone by with these items left out,” Daniel told Jam Press.
Adding to the spooky atmosphere, he later spotted a taxidermy of a lone pheasant in a glass case in one of the final rooms the pair visited.
“Oh my god! What?! Why is he here?” Daniel can be heard exclaiming as he comes across the dead bird.
Having spent about an hour in the house, Daniel said the experience felt like stepping back in time.
He added: “It felt like we were seeing a part of history that not many people get to experience, such as old artifacts, and old brands that have long gone and disappeared from the shelves.”
