Disabled powerlifter Kuldeep Singh from northern India's Haryana has plenty of trophies and records to his name and he wants his situation to be an inspiration rather than holding him back.

He lost the use of his legs to polio as a child and long struggled how to overcome his predicament.

Now, he believes that irrespective of a disability, anyone can achieve what they put their mind to.

The footage from Thursday (October 28) shows him lifting weights as well as moving around his house despite his disability.

Hailing from northern India's Haryana, specially-abled Kuldeep Singh is a powerlifter who has made several records in the field and uses his inability as an inspiration instead of allowing it to hold him back.

The national weightlifting champion lost the use of his legs to polio as a child. Initially, he struggled with his medical ailment but soon devoted himself to getting fit. He has added several feathers to his powerlifting cap by making several national records in the field.

As if his medical predicament wasn't enough, Singh also faced humiliation at the hands of society. Coming from a financially weak family, he always aspired to be a bodybuilder. Moreover, he believes that irrespective of a disability, anyone can achieve what he has if they put their mind to it.

One of his records includes lifting 185 kg (407 lbs) in the 65 kg (143 lbs) category. Moreover, Singh wants to achieve laurels for the country and aims to represent India globally. He aspires to enter international and Asian powerlifting contests to prove that a disability does not define a person.

The only thing stopping Singh from achieving his goal is his financial incapability. He can barely afford his training equipment and protein intake, which he requires daily for his practice. He expresses his inability and seeks financial aid from society, urging people to support his dreams during these testing times.
