Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Brandon Toter confirmed Francis Kehler IV from Frackville was driving a Dodge Charger south on Route 61 when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and clipped the rear-end of an oncoming pickup truck causing it to spin out. The pickup was heavily damaged while the driver was not injured.
Kehler’s vehicle, which was a rental, careened, across a parking lot coming to rest in the mix use structure (AppleGate Recovery Clinic and residence.)
Charges are pending against Francis Kehler who’s arrest records show he is has outstanding warrants in both Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties.



5:34am on October 30, 2021 Mount Carmel Township was alerted to a multi-vehicle accident with one ending up inside a structure. As units began to respond it was than reported that at least 1 occupant had fled the scene in an unknown direction. Fire crews began to arrive and Assess the structure and added Rescue 62 out of Shamokin as a precaution. After the building was evaluated the vehicle was carefully recovered from the building and crews made a few minor adjustments to stabilize the building before being placed available by command. The driver was identified after he showed up at a nearby house and told his girlfriend he wrecked the vehicle, threw money at her, than took off on foot.
