Fans were seen cowering behind walls after the head coach of Ferro de General Pico was shot during the match in Mendoza, Argentina.

According to local reports, Mauricio Romero received a gunshot wound to the shoulder during his team's clash with Huracan Las Heras.

The club has reported that Romero is in "a good condition and out of danger."

The match in the Federal A league was suspended late in the second half with Huracan leading 3-1.

What appeared to be a simple match in the Federal A tournament, the third category of Argentine soccer, led to an unthinkable nightmare in Mendoza. The local Hurricane Las Heras beat Ferro de General Pico 3-1 when a shooting began, according to police sources, originating in the interior of the club's bar. And the bullfights in the stands moved to the playing field: the players and members of the delegations of the two teams fled scared at the possibility of being hit by the bullets. One of the projectiles hit the shoulder of Mauricio Romero, coach of the Pampean team, who fell collapsed on the grass, before the TV cameras, which captured the moment. The club reported that he is out of danger.

The events took place when there were just under 10 minutes left before the meeting, by date 30 of the contest. The shooting started outside the stadium, but continued indoors. According to witnesses, everything would have started when a faction of the bar wanted to join the popular and, faced with the impossibility, opened fire. High-impact images were also observed in the stands, such as families throwing themselves to the ground on the steps to avoid the shots.
