The glass-bottomed boat SPV Kalgan Queen takes half-day cruises from the Oyster Harbour small boat harbour in Albany in south-western Western Australia. The cruise takes in the scenic, sheltered waters Oyster Harbour, with a rookery of Australian Pelicans and Straw-necked Ibises, giant Stingrays, a shipwreck and fish-catching Ospreys before travelling upstream on the beautiful Kalgan River. The Kalgan Queen stops on the riverbank about eight kilometres upstream of the Kalgan River Bridge, and the lively Captain Jack serves savoury damper and hot drinks while passengers stretch their legs. While sailing back to harbour down the Kalgan you might be lucky enough to see Percy the Dancing Pelican as she pirouettes in the water in return for a fresh fish. The half-day tour ends back at the dock in Oyster Harbour, where yet more Pelicans wait, hoping to be fed.
