"Someone is out there," said a 3-year-old girl at nearly 3 am after an unnerving and creepy moment was captured on a Nest cam.

Toby and his wife were sound asleep on May 30 when things started getting downright spooky.

"[My wife] woke up to a strange noise that was accompanied by a vibration that felt like it was shaking the whole house. My 3-year-old daughter came into our room moments later to say something scared her. Her room is in the front of the house on the second floor above the front door where the Nest camera is located. Our room is on the second floor in the back of the house. When my wife picked her up to comfort her and bring her back to bed, my daughter pointed at the window and said "Someone is out there." She has never said this before or ever since," Toby tells Newsflare.

Toby said he was asleep during the entirety of these events, but the next morning he checked his Nest recordings with his wife and was alarmed at what they saw.

In the first portion, recorded at 2:13 am, a low guttural rumble is heard quite loudly. The second portion, recorded at 2:27 am, shows an unmistakable floating orb appearing in front of their porch.

"After the loud noise a car passes right in front of our house and it is almost silent by comparison. As for the orb, I have yet to find a good explanation. I thought the most plausible culprit was a bug. So I have looked at all kinds of bugs flying in front and crawling across our camera in the middle of the night. None of them look or move anything like this recording. I also considered moisture, but I know there was no rain that night. As best as I can tell it was about as big as the round beanie part of a baseball hat," Toby tells Newsflare.

After listening to the noise she heard a few times I noticed there was another event recorded on the Nest timeline about 13 mins later. When I jumped forward to see what it was I got chills as I watched this clip. It looks like an orb that floats from the top right in front of the trees and continues behind the column towards the front door. Then almost as if it notices the camera, it reverses course and travels back right and then down and out of sight. I tried to figure out how big it was by holding up different objects I had at home and then estimated the distance based on this video. As best as I can tell it was about as big as a baseball hat.
