Drone dotage shows fishing trawler crash with cargo ship in Thailand
A fishing trawler crashed into a container ship in Thailand’s Chao Phraya River.
The boats collided after arriving at Samut Prakan province, near the city hall’s entrance in the middle of the river, on Tuesday morning, November 2.
Each vessels, named O.P.K. 3 and NP Pathumthani, were moving from the opposite side. One was heading to Laem Chabang Port while the other was heading to Khlong Toei Port.
The O.P.K 3 sustained a 1×1-metre crack that was two-metres deep from the collision. The NP Pathumthani, on the other hand, only suffered minor damage on its bow.
Authorities are now investigating the incident. A private salvage team has been sent to retrieve 51 containers that had fallen from the O.P.K.3 ship.
Containment booms have also been deployed around the area of the accident to keep the oil spill from seeping into the Gulf of Thailand.
No deaths and injuries have been reported from the incident.
