The locals dunked their children in cow dung as a ritual believing that it would keep them healthy throughout the year in central India's Madhya Pradesh on November 5. The incident took place in Betul.

Visuals feature the rituals going on in full swing. A group of women circles around a pool of cow dung, following which the locals worship it. Later, they carry their young ones one by one and place them on the cow dung platform. The children get covered in the waste, while the onlookers rejoice in the festivities.

Despite the doctors advising otherwise, the locals participate in the rituals, where they dunk their children in cow dung to ensure their good health throughout the year. The tradition is a part of the age-old Govardhan Puja, which follows Diwali in the country.
