Hundreds in London stage demonstration to mark one year of conflict in Tigray as Ethiopia edges closer to civil war

The UK Tigrayan community marched (Nov 7) from the US Embassy to Trafalgar Square to call for a resolution to conflict in the northernmost region in Ethiopia.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed launched a military campaign in the region expecting it last a few weeks - but one year on, war still rages on.
Ethiopia is close to civil war as troops advance on Capital, Addis Ababa.

The conflict has resulted in famine conditions for close to a million people in the east African nation with millions more subsisting on minimal food.
Humanitarian aid cannot reach the needy as the BBC reports trucks are abandoned due to a lack of fuel.
