A doctor from Vietnam removed a 1.2-centimetre-long screw from the lung of a three-year-old boy on Sunday (November 7).

The boy was taken to hospital in Da Nang after complaining of problems breathing.

Doctors quickly discovered the screw in his lungs after carrying out an X-ray.

They then used an endoscope to remove the foreign object as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, the boy's lungs were not damaged by the screw and he was set to be discharged after a few days.

According to his parents, he put the screw in his mouth after finding it around the house.

According to the doctor, the boy's parents took him to the hospital and told him he had swallowed a screw in his mouth. Now the boy is having difficulty breathing and choking.
Immediately after taking the X-ray film. Doctors discovered that the position of the screw was in the middle of the lung. Doctors quickly brought the boy into the operating room and proceeded to remove the screw from his lungs.
In the video, the doctor used an endoscope to remove the screw from the boy's lung. Doctors said the screw was about 1.2cm long. Fortunately, the screw did not hurt the boy's lungs.
His parents said the boy had picked up a screw and thought it was food, so he put it in his mouth. They weren't able to stop it because the situation was moving so fast. They said they will pay more attention to the boy after the incident.
The doctor said that it is necessary to keep the boy away from small and sharp objects because they can be dangerous to him.
The boy can be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
