Meteor lights up the night sky in front of motorists in Thailand
This is the spectacular moment a meteor lit up the night sky in front of awe-struck motorists in Thailand.
Video shows the shooting star streaking across the sky in Phitsanulok in the northeast of the country on November 3.
Locals in neighbouring provinces of Khon Kaen, Phetchabun, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, and Uttaradit also reported seeing the fireball.
The meteor flew for around 10 seconds before disappearing into the darkness.
Onlooker Sittichok Chachinrum said: ‘I saw a green light and heard an explosion. I thought it was a great experience to witness something beautiful like this.’
A meteor is a piece of rock smaller than an asteroid that burns up when it enters the earth’s atmosphere, resulting in a bright streak of light.
