A runaway buffalo was shot dead after injuring seven people in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Yulin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on November 9 shows the escaped buffalo suddenly ramming into a scooter rider waiting at traffic lights and knocking her over onto the ground.

In another clip, the buffalo ran into a shop on the side of a road and stayed for a while before running out.

After receiving a report, the police drove vehicles to block the buffalo’s way, knocking over the buffalo by the vehicle and shooting it dead.

Injured people were sent to hospital and none of them are in life-threatening condition.

According to reports, the buffalo lost control when being unloaded from a transport vehicle.

The buffalo’s owner and the transport driver were controlled by the police and the case is in further investigation.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
