Brave locals save kitten drowning in dirty canal in Thailand
This is the heartwarming moment brave locals saved a kitten drowning in a dirty canal in Thailand.
The kind men stopped next to the waterway after seeing the stray cat struggling to stay afloat in Bangkok on November 5.
They tried using a long, wooden pole to reach the cat. However, the cat was too wet and slippery so it was unable to cling onto the stick.
While looking for other rescue tools, the pair found a net that they used to scoop the stranded feline out of the water. It appeared tired, but was otherwise healthy and had no injuries.
Onlooker Sarawut said: ‘The men were kind. They stopped and saved the kitten after shopping in the market.’
The kitten is believed to have fallen into the water after becoming separated from its family.
Residents took the kitten into a nearby home where it was cleaned up. They also gave it a drink of milk and snacks to help it regain its strength.
Sarawut said the moggy was now being cared for by a local family who live in the are.
