Roads flooded in southern India after heavy rain storm
Roads in southern India were flooded as heavy rain battered Tamil Nadu state on Thursday November 11.
Video shows a waterlogged street in the residential suburb of Nanmangalam, Chennai City after a weather system 130 kilometres east-southeast of the city brought intense downpours across the state.
At least seven roads and 11 subways have been closed by traffic police due to floods. Tamil Nadu Minister KKSSR Ramachandran said at least 12 have died in rain and flood-related incidents.
The Indian Meteorological Department forecasted heavy rain to persist over southern India in the next couple of days.
