A second-hand car dealership in northern China was crushed by the weight of snow on its roof on Monday 8 November.

The collapse, in Shenyang city in Liaoning province, was caught on camera as blizzards smothered the region in snow.

The owner of the auto dealer, Mr Li, said that he had just rented the building for his dealership in June.

Five of the 21 vehicles in the store were rescued and 16 vehicles were damaged.

Mr Li said that more than one million yuan (157,000 US dollars) was spent on opening the store and that it is not possible to make insurance claims for second-hand cars.

He felt that the collapse of the house was not just caused by the blizzard but was also down to poor building construction.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
