Residents of Chennai in eastern India experienced some relief from the recent heavy rain but are still struggling with flooded streets.

Video filmed on Saturday (November 13) shows vehicles and pedestrians in ankle-high water after five days of heavy rain.

Even though the rains have stopped and most of the underpass subways have opened for traffic movement, many areas in Chennai are still flooded and the streets are waterlogged causing major inconvenience to the people.

The authorities are pumping out the flooded water from low-lying areas using high-power motors, but the citizen woes continue as they are unable to carry out their regular works due to the waterlogging.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the city will receive light to moderate rainfall in the coming days. However, many parts of the city continued to remain inundated and residents were surrounded by rainwater that refused to drain even on Sunday.
