An SUV was stuck in the middle of a flood after heavy rains triggered a landslide in northern India.

Footage shows the vehicle stranded on a road near Lambagarh village, Uttarakhand state on October 18.

Motorist Mayank Gupta, who recorded the video, was on his way to Joshimath City when he saw the SUV almost being swept away by the strong current.

It had nearly fallen off the road before it was towed to safety by a crane. No one appeared hurt in the incident.

The India Meteorological Department recorded 192.6 mm of rainfall in Uttarakhand in October, of which 122.4 mm fell on October 20 alone.

Authorities said at least 64 have died in the downpour, which climatologists said was caused by changing monsoon patterns.
