US rapper Lil Tjay involved in mass brawl after UK gang attempt to rob his chains
This is the moment US rapper Lil Tjay was involved in a mass brawl while leaving a club - after a gang attempted to rob his chains.
The New York performer - whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt - had just performed at the nightclub Switch when he was jumped by the masked gang.
In the video, Lil Tjay can be seen at the centre of the scrap as men with balaclavas attempt to grab hold of him.
It is unclear from the footage whether his jewellery is actually stolen before his crew wade in and mount an offensive of their own on the attackers.
The momentum seems to dramatically change as his team target one man and repeatedly punch and kick him as he is tackled to the ground.
Security frantically try to get hold of the situation until the violence eventually concludes after both sides are separated.
An eye witness says he even saw fans of the 20-year-old rapper help fight off the gang whilst police were arriving at the scene.
It has been reported the gang carried out the attack with the intention of stealing the rapper's jewellery that he wore for his performance in Southampton, Hampshire.
The video was filmed at approximately 2am on November 12th 2021.
