Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in various parts of the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Pelting rain began hitting the Indian states on Thursday (November 18).
Taminaldu's northern districts, including the Chennai one, are the most affected so far.

At least 25 people have lost their lives and 17 others are still missing in Andhra Pradesh. Last week, at least 28 people died in Kerala state.

According to scientists and experts, the monsoon season has been prolonged this year, with climate change exacerbating the already intense weather conditions.

Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in various parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh as several rain-related incidents are being reported from rain-affected areas. In the recent rains and floods around 14 people have lost their lives. Rains continued to lash many parts of the Tamilnadu state, especially the northern districts including Chennai.

In the past 24 hours, five places of Tamil Nadu received extremely heavy rains, 37 areas experienced very heavy rains, and over 66 places heavy rains. The four districts which were given red alert recorded less than 20 cm of rainfall.As a result, schools and colleges in the affected areas are shut on Friday.
