This adorable little puppy showed its courage recently by swimming to safety through raging floodwaters in southern India.

Footage captured on November 19 in the Vellore District of Tamil Nadu shows the cute pooch following his mother through the fast-flowing water to a section of dry land.

Eventually, firefighters used a rope to haul the shivering pup to safety.

Both dogs were doing fine after their ordeal, according to their rescuers.

Torrential and monsoon rains lashed the entire South India. It resulted in flooding of major rivers. Unfortunately a puppy and its mother struck in the flooding river. The puppy tried hard to swim across the river to reach the bank but it cant able to make it. It was washed away by the currents in the floods. Then mother dog came near the puppy and guided the puppy to cross the floods and to stand in the elevated area in the water body. Then the puppy held the plants in the water body and crossed safely the floods and reached the elevated area. The locals saw the struggle and informed the fire and rescue team. They rushed to the spot as all the teams are busy this team came with least available materials to rescue the puppy. One rescue personal tied ropes onto him and went down the flooding water. He caught the puppy in a bag. The puppy was airlifted. The mama dog was rescued later. Both the mama and the puppy are now healthy says the rescue personal.
