Customs officials in Hyderabad, Telangana, seized gold that was concealed in alarm clocks, toy cars and other items by a smuggler.

The smuggler, who flew in from Dubai, had stored gold worth over $21,000 inside alarm clocks, toy cars, deodorant bottles and electronic scales.

A man flew from Dubai with gold worth Rs. 15.75 lakh (USD 21,086) to southern India's Telangana on November 25. The incident took place in Hyderabad.

Visuals feature the officials recovering gold concealed inside deodorant bottles, portable electronic scales, toy cars, and alarm clocks. Following this, the authorities carefully separate thin foils of gold from various items and seize them on the spot.

The Hyderabad Customs Department found a male passenger suspicious and intercepted him at the security check and checked his baggage. Following this, a total of 320 grams of gold valued at Rs. 15.75 lakh (USD 21,086) was recovered and seized. Meanwhile, an investigation into the matter is underway.
