This footage filmed on Saturday (November 27) shows Chennai's popular Marina Beach flooded due to heavy rains.

Despite access to the public being restricted, many visitors were sneaking into the beach to enjoy a walk and play.

The beach is stretched out to a distance of 13 kilometers making it the longest natural urban beach in the country, second largest in the world and also the most crowded beach in India with almost 30,000 visitors a day.

Heavy rains continued to lash Chennai and its nearby areas on Thursday morning, affecting vehicular movement and causing waterlogging in the city. Chennai's popular beach Marina beach flooded over after the heavy downpour which was a result of cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal.

Footage filmed on Saturday showed Marina Beach, which is the most popular and most crowded beaches in the country, flooding due to the heavy rains. Due to heavy downpours, the public is restricted to visit the beach and going closer to the sea as it is rough with high tides, still many sneak into the beach to enjoy the weather and play.

Several parts of Chennai face severe waterlogging and traffic congestion due to heavy rainfall. Several residential colonies were marooned by rain waters and vehicular traffic was disrupted in most parts of Chennai, as several roads and residential localities have been marooned. T
