A 6-foot-long rat snake trapped in netting was cut free by a rescuer in Sarni, Madhya Pradesh.

Locals had placed a fishing net around papaya trees to keep chickens away.

Footage from November 26 shows the official named Adil Khan using scissors to carefully remove the net from around the reptile's body.

A six-foot-long rat snake got caught in a fishing net in central India's Madhya Pradesh on November 26. The incident took place in Sarni in Ghoradongri.

Visuals feature the rat snake badly caught in the fishing net meant for boundary purposes. The mesh remains tightly covered around the reptile, which is unable to move. Later, a snake rescuer arrives at the spot, following which he cuts the net around the reptile, freeing it. Then, he carefully grabs its mouth and takes the mesh out from it, further relieving it.

The locals had put up a fishing net around the papaya trees to keep the chickens out. A snake got caught in the mesh, following which the panic-stricken people alerted biodiversity expert Adil Khan, who arrived a the spot and rescued the six-foot-long rat snake.
