An anti-Asian hate rally in London's Chinatown became violent when protesters advocating for a more democratic Hong Kong clashed with pro-Beijing attendees.

Video filmed on Saturday afternoon (November 27) shows Hong Kong democracy activists dressed in black and shouting at the pro-Beijing crowd, "Shame on you!" on a megaphone. One person holds a black flag that reads, "Hong Kong independence."

A mass brawl then breaks out around Gerrard Street, with punches being thrown, before men in hi-vis jackets intervene.

Labour Member of Parliament John McDonnell had been slated to speak at the rally but was not seen by Newsflare's filmer.
