A python curled on top of an electricity line was rescued in Thailand.

Locals called the snake wranglers after finding the 12ft-long snake wrapped around the cables in Chanthaburi province on November 23.

Rescuers used a cherry picker to reach the reptile which was several metres up from the ground.

Two specialists had to work together to catch the snake. One used a pole to hold the python by its neck while the other loosened the creature’s grip on the wire.

However, while the snake was escaping, it slipped and fell to the ground. They finally managed to catch it by the tail

The snake received medical treatment from a vet before being released into the wild.

Reptile specialist Chalermchai Sitsing said: ‘The snake was large so it was difficult to catch. We brought the snake back with us to make sure it was healthy before releasing it.’
