A turtle with its head stuck in a water pipe was rescued in Thailand.

Kittithat Sonain, 22, was out fishing with his friend when they both found the turtle stuck in a concrete pipe in Suphan Buri province on November 21.

Kittithat tried to pull the reptile out from the structure, but failed due to its size. He then used a hammer to break the concrete pipe before carrying the trapped creature out.

The man placed the turtle into a fertiliser sack and brought it to a temple to free it. Kittithat put the turtle down the steps, allowing it to walk freely into the pond.

Upon touching the water, the turtle stuck its head out from its shell and swam away out of sight.

Kitthithat said: ‘It looked like it was stuck there for weeks. I’m happy to be the one rescuing the animal.’
