A group of jumbos drifted towards a highway in northeastern India's Assam on November 30. The incident took place on National Highway-39, passing through Numaligarh, located in the Golaghat district.

Visuals feature the elephant herd straying onto the highway from the adjacent forest cover. The jumbos cross over to the road and walk at their own pace. Later, the pachyderms relocate across the highway while the onlookers halt their vehicles at a safe distance to allow the elephants to pass.

The elephants in the region are often known for straying onto the residential areas to look for subsistence, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
