A flock of magpies stole dumplings that a woman placed outside to freeze in northern China.

Video captured in the city of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province on November 27 shows the magpies eating the dumplings that were put on a snow-covered table on a woman's balcony.

According to the woman named Guan, her mother and she made 85 dumplings for her husband and put them outside their flat to freeze.

However, the dumplings on a round plate all disappeared after an hour and the birds' footprints remained on the ground.

After checking the surveillance camera, they found that the dumplings were eaten by the magpies.

They then left the rest of the dumplings to the magpies as well.
