There was mass panic amongst a crowd of people gathered for a candlelight vigil for the victims of the recent Oxford High School shooting, on Friday 4 December.

The chaos in Oxford, Michigan, began when someone in the crowd passed out and an ambulance was called.

This was misinterpreted by some as the result of more violence and they began running and yelling, sparking a wider panic.

Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter said: "There is no threat, no concern."

On 30 November, a gunman opened fire on students and staff at Oxford High School in Oxford Township, Michigan, killing four students and injuring seven others.
