A mother luckily escaped death as her baby's cry brought her out of the kitchen seconds before an explosion in southern China.

Video shot in the city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province on December 3 shows a mother walking out of the kitchen as her son was crying.

However, the liquefied gas suddenly exploded in the kitchen less than ten seconds after she walked out.

The mother named Zhong was seen carrying her son to run out of the room.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Zhong said the gas leaked out as the valve was not turned off properly.

Luckily, Zhong's son made her out of the kitchen before it exploded.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
