A superhero fan received his Covid-19 Omicron booster jab while dressed as the red Power Ranger in the Philippines.

Carlo Angelo Garces, 34, was filmed at a vaccination site in Mandaluyong City on December 8, wearing the iconic red tights to receive his booster shot. The costume also serves as his personal protective equipment.

He said: ‘This is my way of spreading joy to my fellow healthcare workers. It’s also my advocacy to be superheroes in our own right by doing our social responsibility of being vaccinated.’

Carlo has previously earned attention online for dressing up as comic book characters like Spiderman and Venom while visiting public areas in the country.

The Philippine government has recently approved the rollout of Covid-19 booster shots for fully-vaccinated people aged 18 and above who have been inoculated for at least six months. Health officials are now mulling the authorisation of coronavirus vaccines for children aged five to 11.
