A huge whale washed ashore and died on a beach in eastern India's Odisha province on Friday.

The footage filmed on December 10 shows the giant whale still alive, lying in the shallow waves at the shore with locals gathered around to watch.

Later, experts arrive and begin to move the dead animal up the shore. The whale is thought to be a Bryde's whale and around 40 feet long.

The 40-foot-long injured whale was battling for its life after being hit by a fishing trawler. Moreover, the high tide washed it ashore, following which the Forest Department and the geological team shifted the animal away from the beach.
