Woman makes trendy DIY coffee table for just £8 using PLASTIC BOWLS
A woman has shared a hack for making a trendy DIY coffee table for just £8 – and it’s created entirely out of budget everyday items.
Veronica Cannady, 31, from New York, US, came up with the unique method to avoid spending £22.74 ($30 USD) on a similar table in a shop.
The fashionable design shows a three-tiered table with curved edges and a matte black finish.
To create the table, Veronica purchased six plastic bowls, each costing 76p ($1), as well as one serving plate, also costing 76p, a tub of hot glue for 76p, and a can of black spray paint for £2.27 ($3).
All items were purchased from a local discount shop, Dollar Tree, and cost a total of £8.33 ($11).
First, she took the deconstructed bowls apart and glued the two halves together upside down to build the base, before attaching the serving plate to the top to act as the table portion.
She then used the spray paint to colour the entire table in cool matte black.
“I love the finished result,” Veronica, a content creator, told Jam Press.
“You can’t beat a table made from the Dollar Store.
“A similar table would have cost me around $30 minimum.”
She shared the thrifty method on TikTok, where the post was viewed more than 14,000 times and garnered nearly 2,000 likes.
One person commented: “Beautiful.”
“Yesss I made one 2,” another user said. [sic]
Someone else added: “Came out cute.”
“Wow…kool,” another viewer agreed. [sic]
“This would be cool to make standing platters at a party,” suggested another follower.
