Mum blows minds on TikTok with insane Christmas tree that has 6,000 fairy lights
A mum has revealed the best way to decorate Christmas trees to avoid having any dark and dingy patches – by carefully applying thousands of lights in a specific pattern.
Kelly Fitzsimons, 31, from Ireland, went viral on TikTok by showing how she applies lights to her tree – with more than four million people watching the clip.
In the video, her tree can be seen completely bare before she gets to work on the lighting.
She starts by untangling her chosen fairy lights – a warm yellow string.
Kelly says: “I push the lights into the base of my tree the whole way up the trunk.
“There is no particular way of putting them in, just lay them on top of the branches, and then once you are taking these off your tree they will just pull off, they’re so easy to get off.
“As you can see, I’m not walking around the tree – I’m going from left-to-right, right-to-left.
“Once you have them done, you’re going to go on to each individual branch on your tree in a zig-zag shape, matching each corner underneath.
“I’m doing them a little bit looser here so you can see what shape I do.
“And then you work on the tree from left-to-right and right-to-left – don’t walk around it.
“On your way up to the top of your tree, I do one half with 2,000 lights and the second half as you can see here with another 2,000 – it’s nice and bright.”
Kelly uses a total of three packs of 2,000 cluster lights to perfect her tree, using the handy method.
The clip proved popular, with nearly 250,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
