This is the incredible moment a taxi driver from southern India brought a wild monkey back from the dead with CPR.

Prabu was driving home in Samathuvapuram in Tamil Nadu on December 8 when he spotted a group of stray dogs attacking the simian.

He leapt from his vehicle and shooed the dogs away but was dismayed to see the monkey lying lifeless on the ground.

Prabu immediately performed CPR on the creature by both compressing the rib cage and giving the "kiss of life."

After several rounds of CPR and some very tense moments, the monkey suddenly sprung back to life and clung onto Prabu like a baby.

Prabu took the monkey to a nearby veterinary hospital and it was later released into the woods by the forest department.

"I trained in first aid a decade ago but I haven't actually used it since then," Prabu said.

"But now I've saved a monkey and I feel very happy. I didn't hesitate to do the rescue breathing all I needed is to save the monkey's life," he added.

Prabu who works as an car driver. He was on his way from his workplace and was heading towards his home. He saw a group of stray dogs attacking a monkey. He then shooed the dogs to save the monkey. But the monkey was breathless due to the trauma that it faced from the groups of dogs.


The driver immediately performed CPR to the monkey. But it still cant able to breathe. Then he did rescue breathing. He blew air to its mouth from his mouth. He repeated the same couple of times. Then the monkey s heart started beating and it shook its body and opened its eyes. He held the rescuers shirt and leaned to him like a baby.

The rescuer was surprised as the monkey was still alive. He then took it to the nearby vet hospital and later the monkey was handed over to the forest department staff by the rescuer. Later it was released into the woods according to the forest sources.

While speaking about the CPR and rescue breathing the driver said "As a part of my duty i was trained for doing first aid and etc a decade ago. But since then i never tried this. But now i saved a monkey. I feel very happy. I didn't hesitate to do the rescue breathing all i needed is to save the monkey s life. I am happy that i did it. "
