This is the terrifying moment patients fled in panic from a hospital as a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck Indonesia on Tuesday morning December 14.

Footage shows rattled patients fleeing in panic as the tremors rocked a hospital in Bantaeng Regency in South Sulawesi province. Some were seen being ushered out of the building with their IV drips still attached.

The United States Geological Survey said the quake struck 112 kilometres north of Maumere town in the province of East Nusa Tenggara at 3:20 UTC. It was recorded at a depth of 18.5 kilometres.

Early tsunami warnings have been issued for the regions of Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara and Southeast and South Sulawesi, the local meteorological agency said.

Authorities said the earthquake caused one injury and only ‘minor’ structural damage.
