Wildlife photographer Ewan Wilson had to wait more than nine hours to capture stunning shots of a majestic golden eagle in Murcia, Spain.

Wilson filmed as he got set up in his wooden hide on a mountain so he would remain hidden from the wildlife.

After a more than nine-hour wait Wilson finally managed to capture the bird as it flew down from the mountain and landed in front of him.

He told Newsflare: "The raptor is an incredible super predator that is often forgotten about by wildlife enthusiasts.

"The golden eagle is one of the very few predators that have a tendency to attack prey that's much larger than they are, although they mostly hunt rabbits and hares they are known to hunt foxes, deer, mountain goats and even smaller wild cats.

"Because they are often found soaring high up in the mountains there majesty is rarely experienced. But when you get an up-close view of these incredible modern-day dinosaurs, their majesty becomes overwhelming."

This footage was captured on December 12.
