Harpist Morwenna Louttit-Vermaat performed Christmas carols and seasonal songs this morning to mark the rising of the sun on the winter solstice at Selsley Common near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Despite the sun not making an appearance, a number of people set their alarms early and donned warm clothes to listen to the performance.
Morwenna has performed at the summer and winter solstice for around five years and today’s performance included renditions of Greensleeves and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Along with her husband Creag, the couple run Hands On Harps based in Stroud.
