Mother monkey looks after puppy as primates in other Indian town kill hundreds
A curious scene was filmed in central India's Chhattisgarh on December 21, when a monkey adopted a puppy and spent several days looking after it.
Visuals feature the primate nourishing and taking care of the little pup on the roof of a shed.
The puppy waddles to the edge before the monkey pulls it to safety and appears to pet it.
This has been going on for five days despite locals trying to distract the monkey and get the puppy back. However, the affectionate simian appears not to want to part with the cute canine.
The incident took place in the village of Manendragarh and contrasts sharply with recent news from another village in India where monkeys have killed hundreds of puppies in an apparent revenge attack for the killing of a baby monkey by dogs.
