Firefighters in Maros, Indonesia, pulled a 13-foot-long python from out of a resident's car bonnet.

Footage from December 13 shows the officials dragging the snake from out of the bonnet via the tyre.

The rescue took around 30 minutes and the snake will be released back into the wild after its wounds are treated.

Footage filmed at Maros fire department, South Sulawesi province on Monday, December 20, the 13 ft-long python coiled in the shockbreaker and into the hood of the car, making it difficult for officers to evacuate the snake.

Officer Erwin said the previous car owner parked his car on the road side, then saw a snake around the left wheel.

"Car owner came here asking for help to remove the snake. The snake is thought to have come from a ditch near the car that was previously parked," Erwin added.

Officers took about 30 minutes to remove the snake.

Snake suffered injuries on his body allegedly due to engine friction. It will be released into their habitat after recovering.
