This is the amusing moment an angry cow faced off with a train driver while blocking the tracks.

The farm creature wandered onto the line after escaping from its field in Surat Thani province, southern Thailand, on December 14.

Eagle-eyed driver Tor slowed down the passenger train while rolling up to the animal hoping it would move away along with a second cow watching from the side.

However, the stubborn bovine stared down the powerful train for almost a minute before finally scampering away into the bushes alongside the train tracks when an assistant jumped down to scare it away.

The relieved driver said: "I always look out for animals on the track and slow down for them. But this cow didn't want to move.

"The cow refused to move even when I was sounding the horn so I sent somebody down there to move it."
