Student builds moving scale robot of Gundam model in Japan
A Japanese student student built a moving scale robot of a Gundam model during his spare time.
Using CAD software and a 3D printer, the hobbyist named Roa set out to build a replica of the Zaku II Gundam – featured in the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin manga – on a 1:10 scale.
But aside from the impressive level of detail the hobbyist has poured into the project, Roa’s mech also moves.
Video shows the robot appearing to kick its leg up while wires and motors can be seen behind the exposed armour panel.
The third-year high school student’s ambitious undertaking is still ongoing and has reportedly been underway for several months.
