Rescuers hauled a wild leopard today (December 27) from a deep well in central India.

Footage captured in the Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh showed a team from the forest department hauling the stricken big cat to the surface on a platform attached to ropes.

Officials said they did not know when the leopard fell into the well or for how long it had been struggling in the water.

Out on a prowl, a leopard fell into a well in central India's Madhya Pradesh on December 27. The incident took place in the Rampura Balachon village, located in the Bhopal district.

Visuals feature the leopard struggling to stay afloat on the surface of the water. The rescuers lower ropes into the well, from which the big cat gathers support. Later, the leopard saviors use a cage to fish the mammal and use their collective strength to pull it out.

The Forest Department officials team Led by Narendra Kumar Chouhan (RFO) Range Forest Officer, Berasia arrived at the spot upon receiving information about the leopard and adeptly rescued it. However, it is still unknown when the big cat fell inside or for how long it was struggling.
