Stray dog with tongue stuck in discarded sardine can rescued
A dog with its tongue stuck in a discarded fish can was rescued in Thailand.
Resident Jubjub Suwanna found the pitiful pooch sitting with the metal can hanging from its tongue in Surin province on December 19.
She said: ‘When I saw the dog, I knew it needed help. The can was stuck so tight on its tongue that it couldn’t eat or drink.’
Rescue volunteers later arrived at the scene after being called by the locals. They carried the dog out from the bushes it was hiding in and proceeded to remove the sardine can from its tongue.
Footage shows the volunteers prising open the piece of metal using a pair of pliers as the stray lay docile during the operation. Its tongue can be seen dirtied and bleeding after cutting it on the can’s sharp edges.
The dog was then delivered to a vet in Nakhon Ratchasima province to receive treatment.
