This is the touching moment a sailor in the Royal Navy surprised his mother by returning home for Christmas to the UK after a 9-month deployment.

Footage captured on December 21 shows Ciaran Devlin sneaking up on his mother as she walks home.

Eventually, she turns around and does a double-take as she lays eyes on her son for the first time in months.

"After finishing a worldwide 9-month deployment with the Royal Navy, I came home and surprised my Mum right before Christmas," Devlin said.

'Following his return from deployment, this Navy officer thought of surprising his mom in a "sneakily" adorable manner.

Ciaran Devlin, the guy in question, can be seen following her mom on her way back home.

Clueless about who could be walking right behind her, the sweet lady eventually decides to turn around and find out what was going on.

And that's when she sees the face of her son whom she hadn't met in nearly a year. What follows is perhaps the most beautiful mom & son reunion in existence.
