A dad in northern China turned his frozen-over backyard into an ice rink for his son to play hockey in.

In the video, filmed in Jilin City, Jilin Province, the teenage boy was seen playing hockey in the household rink created by his dad.

It’s reported that his dad just poured water into the yard during winter for the 4th consecutive year. The boy has been playing ice hockey for six years.

At first, his dad was not good at pouring the water to make the rink as flat as possible and it took 4 or 5 days to create the rink. Over time, however, the father has grown increasingly skilled at creating the icy arena.

The video was filmed on December 29 and provided by local media with permission.
