Swimmers were seen braving the cold water on Saturday (January 1st) as dozens took part in an annual New Year's day tradition.

The event organized at Spring Lakes in Derbyshire was part of a chilly swim which attracted brave swimmers and some first timers.

Swimmers were seen braving the cold water this morning as dozens took part in an annual new year's day tradition. The event organised at Spring Lakes in Derbyshire was part of a chilly swim which attracted brave swimmers and some first timers.

The morning started off lovely and warm but rain soon fell, but this did not deter swimmers. The rain then passed around 11am at the same time a group of female open water swimmer took to the water in bright swimsuits and hats.

A couple of men also braved the water topless with one only wearing speedos.
