In Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore, on 2nd Januaray 2022 , Uma Maheshwaran who is a pet parent to 3 cats organized a baby shower (Valaikappu) tradition for her two pregnant cats. Uma who has 3 cats One male and two female Persian cats . The cats are named Iris, Kshira and Race. All the three cats are almost 1 year old.
Uma tells the pregnancy period for cats is 62 days. Kshira is pregnant and is around her 50th day and iris is around her 35th day. Race is the male cat. Baby shower function is normally held for women to have a healthy baby and good food will be provided to her around those days. Similarly we wanted our cats to have healthy kittens and they are a part of our family. We want them to get blessings . Pet parents adds that we regularly visit doctors and vaccinate them in the correct timings and maintain a proper health record .
During the baby shower they invited close friends and family , as a special invitee they invites their pet vet doctor . Special foods were arranged and cats were decorated . In a video it can be seen one of the pet cat having Bindi on her fore head
