When 26-year-old Charlotte Trench from Grimsby was offered the chance to be the first person to try the UK's highest bungee jump she had to say yes - despite being 'absolutely petrified' of the jump.

In footage that was posted on December 19, Charlotte shared the death defying drop that only takes place once a year at UK Bungee Club in Chepstow, Wales.

In May 2021, it was her first day working on the media team for UK Bungee Club when she was offered the opportunity to 'test jump' the UK's highest bungee. She thought that the company were joking, but they said it could be her initiation.

Not one to back down, Charlotte says: "It’s the biggest one in the UK and people had waited years on a waiting list to do the jump so it really felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to do it.

"I was really sure I wouldn’t go through with it but I knew I would have to if I got up there."

Charlotte isn't a big fan of heights and says that 'the first five seconds free flying were super scary', but that once she began to bounce on the rope nearer to the ground she could not have been more proud of herself.

The AJ Hackett Macau Tower bungee jump is the highest bungee jump in the world at 764 feet - perhaps this is next on her list after she has recovered from this jump?
